Sonic Unleashed.

Sonic Unleashed is one of the best sonic games released on a next gen console, obviously no new sonic game could beat the original sonic games on the mega-drive, but this one comes closer that any other.

GAMEPLAY

So the game play is decent

DAY
In the day time you play as sonic hedgehog, the style is like the classic games but faster and in 3d, the game switches from 3rd person and side scrolling platformer with no effort and its easy to get used to once you play afew levels, the goal of the levels is to get to the end as fast as possible and to collect as many rings as possible, this brings back memories of the first 3 sonic games, you also have to find sun medals in order to unlock new levels in the later stages of the game, all in all the best part of the game.

NIGHT
At night time you play as sonic the werehog, the style is much more of a 3rd person beat-em-up, still a good style of gameplay but usually it gets repetetive with a limited selection of moves and levels that are too long and slow, this mode always ends with a boss fight, it is still fun but the downfall of the game for me, also you have to find moon medals in order to unlock new levels in the later stages of the game as with the day time game mode.

GAME WORLD
the game world out of the main levels is a limited free roaming world, there are side quests that are good for giving you time out of the main levels for a short break without leaving the game, also after you get into the game you can freely travel between cities and change the time between night and day freely.

The game is enjoyable and fun for all ages and i would recomend this game to anyone that likes both platforming and beat-em-up games.

RATING

Me: 7/10.

IGN: 4.5/10.

Gamespot: 3.5/10.

The Bigs 2

Hi all, been awhile but i am back, OK the bigs 2, if you like baseball you will love this game.

All in all the bigs 2 is an amazing game, you can play normal versus, go to extra modes and play a full season as your favourite team, there is a mini game, pinball, basically its a variation of pinball using the streets as the table and the player as the flipper, except you only hit each ball once but score points for hitting signs, cars and most object on the street, the main and best feature of the game by far has to be the "be a legend" mode, where you create your own player from premade faces, and change things like glove styles, pads and helmets and even choose your batting stance, after this you start, you get to play mini games and game scenarios all of which usually earn you different kits for teams or stats for your player.

The game play is great, more realistic from the first game and they have added "Legendary catches" to the game, this means when the ball is hit hard and fast and travelling towards a player with legendary catching he can perform a legendary catch, when triggered you have a short time to complete a mini game and if successful you will catch the ball, This means you can perform almost impossible catches as a fielder, pitcher or catcher depending on the situation and with a different mini game to master for each situation, all in all the game is realistic yet has an arcade feel making it the best baseball game i have ever played.

Me: 9/10.

IGN: 8/10.

Gamespot: 8/10.

Review:Halo 3

Details: A game that keeps players coming back for more, Halo 3 created by Bungie is the next game to come from the ever popular Halo series, with all new game modes, levels and next gen graphics, the game is close to release and looking as though sales are promising.

Pre-Purchase Impressions: From what i have heard and seen of video footage, pictures, previews and more, the game seems very promising, as i am sure you know, but then again the Halo series has been promising from the beginning, tomorrow i will buy the game on the release day and let you know the details, of course you may have to wait for me to put down the controller for 10 minutes to write a review, i cant promise that though.
But the online multiplayer looks good, with new vehicles and game modes, one level i saw shows a deathmatch online, the level was small and outside as to force player to fight, but there were turrets around the outside of the small area in the centre, which once a player get out of range of the central area of the level the turrets fire and kill the player, this makes players face each other, whats better, facing other player with a chance to win or getting destroyed by an automated turret that you cant kill? easy answer to that one, so its best to fight rather than run.

First Impression: I have Halo 3 and its the limited edition so i have themes and gamer pics with the game, i have the making of and creation concept pics and other bonuses, but the game itself is an amazing improvment on previous halo games, its a great game and a must have for any fps fans.

Customisation: Well as other Halo games you can choose your armour colour and create a badge, but it has more choices, you can also change your armour for both spartan and elite such as helmet, shoulder guards and body armour, this makes sure you don't look the same as everyone else.

Campaign: the campaign mode is great, it eases you in through the first levels and later it get harder and the adds more enemies to battles.

Multiplayer: Apart from matchmaking which automatically finds opponents for you to fight against and sets the level aswell, it has a custom game mode so you can create your own game and choose your own setting, best for playing against friends, also there is the forge, this is a multiplayer mode that lets you edit the level, add more weapons and vehicles or move crates vehicles and turrets around the level while people are killing each other, its fun to move a vehicle just before someone hops in it and adds the the fun when they run around confused as to why the worthog is floating above them.

Vehicles: apart from the normal vehicles that are well known to the Halo series such as the warthog, ghost and banshee, there are more vehicles like the mongoose (an atv) and on larger levels you can see the Elephant driving around, this is a huge transport vehicle with turrets and a vehicles bay to park a mongoose or warthog or both, on player drives and the rest of the team can jump on and ride on it without mounting it is huge and you have the freedom to walk around on it freely and fight.

Overall: The game is amazing and is a massive imrovement on the previous Halo games, making the final chapter to the Halo (Fps) series the best ever, as you probably know there is still Halo wars (Rts), so the halo franchise isnt completely over, we can hope that they will continue creating Halo games as it is the best fps around.

Review:Two Worlds

Details: Two Worlds is a free-roam RPG from Reality Pump, with armour and weapons to collect, the ability to ride a number of different mounts (animals), quests and guilds to join, it sounded like a promising game almost like Oblivion.

Pre-purchase impression: I heard one thing about this game that made it a must have game, it was said that it was as good as the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, i have oblivion and love the game so had to get Two Worlds.

First impressions: When i turned on the game i was excited about the pending gameplay, but, i was very sorely disappointed, the game is nothing like oblivion and after an hour i took the game back and swapped for another game.

Character Creation: The creation is poor and boring with no sense of customisation, the character i created didnt feel like my own, the creation had only afew pre-set faces and hair, no choice on details or anything, colour choice on eyes and hair and thats all, and limited choice on size and length of chest, legs and arms.

Gameplay: The camera angles and controls are difficult and too sensative, there is a 1st person view but once you draw you weapon it reverts back to 3rd person, the voice over are poor and clearly read from a script with no sense of reality and makes the game feel acted out.
Also the movement is very robotic and your player runs with a straight back, jumps in a very unrealistic way and lands with straight legs.

Fighting: Well, what to say, it has a limited amount of moves in one combo, not all strikes hit, the enemy appear in mobs from nowhere and swarm you, no blocking only jumping back and it looks as if you slide backwards.

H.U.D and Menu: Poor, too small to read the text and a mess at best, the map in full screen is able to scroll up or down and this makes the game world very small, the inventory screen is confusing and and doesnt show you character so you have to leave the inventory screen to see what the new armour looks like, the stats screen is annoying and small, it looks rushed and isnt in any order at all, this makes it hard to find what your looking for.

Overall: Dont waste time and money on this game unless you are desperate, get or play Oblivion 2 or 3 times as its more fun and realistic, reality pump have no sense of reality at all.
